Role and responsibilities

This is an incredibly exciting role for someone who dreams of being part of an early stage tech company in a fascinating sector with the possibility to earn life-changing stock options.

Initially, you will support front end development to enhance an Air Traffic Controller user experience. In some circumstances, the team may have agreed changes required, in others you would be expected join in the UI brainstrorming. Once we've taught you about Air Traffic Control and you have learned the application inside out, you will be exposed to deeper challenges as you develop your full stack capabilities. 

You will be expected to be involved in daily stand ups, team calls, and periodic visits to UK aerodromes to meet customers and test concepts.

Your Experience & Skills

• No aviation experience is necessary, but if you have a geeky love for flying, then all the better.

Remote working

We established during Covid lock-down and so have always had a flexible, homeworking structure.

The sales and delivery team (founders) typically visit airports on a weekly basis. We appreciate our Software Engineers periodically coming along with us for customer engagement, team planning and simply for the opportunity to get out and about. We're lucky to be working in a really exciting sector and so get to visit many airport Control Towers, including helicopter operations for the Grand National, Glastonbury and Silverstone F1.

We work Kanban through Assure Dev Ops with 9:00 daily stand-ups. We typically have a rolling 2 week prioritised backlog based on customer and market needs. Throughout a working day we may come together again for a range of reasons from brainstorming major features, bouncing how to solve specific problems, or indeed the occasional bug needing an urgent patch.

The entire team is treated as founders or near founders and so we are low in admin and high in ownership. We are very flexible with holidays and working hours, but expect the team to intuitively do the right thing without being asked, eg. being there to support new customer launches.
